Mahalo nui to @rise_for_palestine and all organizers who created the space for all of us to gather, raise our voices of solidarity, listen deeply to Palestinian voices and the voices of allies, and to hold one another intentionally in our individual and collective aloha and ‘eha. I am so honored to have been invited to stand with the pou hale of @halehaumea with our offerings of pule and oli for Palesetina and all places and people who are suffering at the hands of genocide.
I’m still reflecting on the day, what I learned, what I allowed opened myself up to feel, and the gratitude of building pilina with our Palestinian relatives living in Hawai’i. It is vital for all of us to listen to them and to hold safe space for them. It is important for all of us to unlearn the prejudices we were socialized to uphold based off of the lies that we are told by the propaganda the oppressive settler colonial government continues to push unto us.
I challenge all of us to be honest with ourselves about what we have been taught to believe and what we have all done to perpetuate that. I challenge all of us to think critically and to think for ourselves from our indigenous world view that teaches that we are all connected by land, sea, and spirit.
I will stand for my mauna for the rest of my life.
I will stand for Palestine for the rest of my life.
I will stand for this Honua for the rest of my life.
I dream of walking to ea alongside the indigenous nations of the world. I dream of getting free together.

“Today in Khan Yunis!
This might be our last call, we are dying! Gaza is completely collapsing! Everything in it collapses.
There were dozens of raids and three hospitals were besieged in Khanyounis: Al-Amal Hospital affiliated with the Red Crescent, Al-Khair Private Hospital, and Nasser Medical Complex, the largest health institution in the Gaza Strip.
People killed in the bombing were buried on front of our eyes in the hospital yard due to tanks blockading the streets, the wounded were on the ground without treatment and there was not enough medical staff!
Massacres are still being committed
On the 109th day of the war, Khan Yunis, the largest governorate in the Gaza Strip and the one that receives the most displaced people, is under bombardment, and the number of displaced people in Rafah is more than one and a half million people, in an area of 151 square kilometers!!
We are facing hepatitis and intestinal diseases in the southern Gaza Strip, and starvation to death in the northern Gaza Strip!
Yesterday, people in the northern Gaza Strip began grinding animal feed to get flour!
Take to the streets, protest, strike.. make pressure on the decision makers by striking the economic movement!

“Hi everyone, it’s Bisan from Gaza, I am still alive Alhamdullah.. it’s been 107 days of genocide, 15 weeks, 2568 hours of killing us, taking over our homes and lands in Gaza Strip, and forcing us to choose between leaving or death.. and sometimes we can’t even choose.. the Israeli air strikes simply kill us without any warnings.
Now, we are without any connection, neither the internet nor the cellular, we can’t reach each other’s inside Gaza, we don’t know if our families and friends are alive or not, wounded or not.. still in their places or not! We take hours of walking and searching to reach someone, while moving became very risky! We can’t reach to you as well! The footage, information and news from Gaza are not reaching you as before because the Israeli army intentionally destroyers the signal towers and the servers, even using the E-SIM requires being in a high place which is very risky!. I borrowed this vest to upload this post!
I am not scared of death, but of being displaced, scared of losing my family or friends, scared of being wounded and can’t have my treatment because the health system is collapsed in Gaza, and to die in pain! I am not scared of the destruction.. I lost my work place.. my home and my family work place and source of income, I am terrified of being killed by an occupier, and to be forgotten, one oppressed Bisan of a whole occupied people.
The strongest governments and weapons manufacturers are supporting this genocide against my people, and you are our only hope! STRIKE globally and call for a ceasefire! Strike, protest, stop the economic movements and make pressure on your countries to stand against this and stop it, if ISRAhell don’t find the financial and weapons support, or governments to hide their crimes they will be forced to stop the genocide!

i haven’t played a lot of music in public in the past few years. i miss it and am making a very clear intention change that. this year is for making and sharing music. this year is for singing through it all.
this year is for giving my 15 year career in this industry a real chance. it is for experimenting with and embracing a new sound, new look, new every thing. i love music and i love my land. i sing about both of those things and i write about a lot of different experiences that i don’t ever really share. i love all kinds of genres and i love to create. i’m not going to make myself so small anymore. i’m not going to make my goals and my dreams for my artistry so small anymore. i don’t want to box it up so much. i want to be free and give myself the sovereignty to expand. so that is exactly what i’m doing.

this has been such an intense season of letting go
i have made so much room for my sacred rage
ever so justified

there are some i want to repair
some i’m good with leaving where it is
the day before i turned 35 memories of my childhood
came back to me when i stood on Maka‘ōpio Heiau
i remembered the harm
i remembered the grief
i remembered the hand over my mouth demanding me not to tell
i remembered how that pain turned to asthma
and a serious lack of boundaries and self worth
i am still in the rage part
because this is something my body never forgot
but my mind decided to quiet so i could survive
& sometimes it’s too much for me to carry

Aloha ‘Āina ‘Oia‘i‘o
I am taking the time to reflect on where we are as a people and who we have become and how we have treated one another in the pursuit of sovereignty. In the past few months I have witnessed young and maturing aloha ‘āina with big passion for Hawai’i, misplace their rage and literally focus it towards me and other wahine. I have watched people champion Hawaiians that harass and bully other Hawaiians online and incite actual harm unto real people under the guise of ‘aloha ‘āina’ and a very toxic view of what accountability looks like.
I have been held to impossible standards by people who were still in elementary school and middle school when I started my journey of standing for Mauna Kea. And what these people do not realize is that we are not going to achieve ea by holding lāhui leaders to impossible standards. I see so much hypocrisy in their points. They don’t think lāhui leaders should get paid for their time, experience, and expertise but they own businesses that promote aloha ‘āina messaging with merchandise that they sustain their families with. They harshly and publicly critique their own people without caring about the impacts unto our ‘ohana and children and unto our own mental health. They think accountability means making public demands and I honestly think if they were to be called out in the same way they wouldn’t be able to handle it. In fact, I’ve seen that they can’t. They deflect and they gaslight. They turn it around and post private DM conversations as if that is brave. It’s haole. That’s what it is.
Emotional intelligence and emotional maturity is top tier indigeneity. Can’t preach lāhui and aloha ‘āina if you don’t know how to be open to reconciliation grounded in the sacred agreements taught to us by our ancestors. Lateral violence is haole. Lateral violence is kolonaio. And we will never achieve ea this way. It’s sad to see so many Kanaka Hawai’i succumb to this behavior. It’s even sadder to see so many of our own people champion it as if it is brave and courageous.
There is nothing wiwo’ole about that.
Nothing koa about that.
Nothing aloha ‘āina about that.
Nothing Hawai‘i about that.
