Happy New Year! In December, I filmed another episode for the NHK TV Show “Trails to Oishii Tokyo,” this time featuring a Japanese root vegetable called “gobo.” The timing was excellent, since gobo is often eaten in New Year’s dishes. Its long length is associated with long life, one of the common wishes at New Years time. Since it looks rather plain, it was a struggle to find a way to paint it appetizingly, but I decided to combine the vegetable itself with dishes prepared by chef Nonaga Kimio ( @kimiononaga ) , who was a winner of the TV show “Iron Chef!” You can watch the episode of Oishii Tokyo online for free by googling ↓
