January 10th, 2024. 🎈 I am 34. 🌻 Survived the writers strike. Focused on my body (continue to be obsessed with @trainbunda) – cooked a lot. Niece Elizabeth was born. Finished the first draft of a movie I’ve been wanting to write for years. Read a lot. Nurtured my relationships. Made new friends. Reconnected with old ones. Stayed in touch with people I love. Appreciate reciprocity more than ever. Lots of board games played. A few concerts. And maybe this is why I stayed sane during a year of little work due to the strike. Hope 34 is awesome. Thank you to everyone in my life for making it so special. ❤️ I’ve always loved my birthday. Swipe for proof.
In January it’ll be ten years since I moved to LA. Today I got my green card in the mail. So here’s my Oscar-like speech because if you think making good movies is hard, getting a GC is harder! And it takes a village! 💚 Thank you to the most wonderful, literally THE BEST immigration attorney you’ll ever find @rachelwoolpc. I could write an essay, a whole book on how fantastic you are! 💚 To my LA family for the last decade. Many holidays and months away from home and you always made sure I had a hug and reassurance @ckyritsis, @j4ymesluc4s – and especially @oktaras I know I wouldn’t be here without you. 💚 To my amazing team @kaileymarsh, @hallemariner and @dereemy. With the exception of the early pandemic and the strikes, I haven’t stopped working and that’s because you’re the best in the industry. Thanks to you I got this GC based on achievement and I didn’t have to marry anyone! 😅 💚 To everyone that helped with letters of recommendation and other requirements. @melodycooperfilm I will never forget you went above and beyond for me. 💚 To my loving family because you made the time apart easier with your beautiful energy, unconditional love and understanding. To my support system, you know who you are. 💚 To the girl in the picture above because SHE DID IT. She’s a believer, a fighter and she makes me do things I’d never think I’d be capable of.
