I have nothing but gratitude to our director @primmjeffrey and producers @justjoyces @tylerolson @johnmichaelsgce for making it happen and giving me the opportunity to be a part of this film. Even after hearing I had been cast, I couldn’t believe it for a while because Lisa is an ordinary college student in America. Her race and ethnicity didn’t come into it. There was no requirement for me to speak Japanese or Chinese. And there were no fight scenes, which I often perform in films. The production team could have cast someone from the States, so I feel really lucky that they were willing to fly me in all the way from Tokyo to Washington. Our DP @awrusso made the picture so cinematic and the camera @setgoose and steadicam @steadistanke made our life so much easier by framing it perfectly within 1-2 takes. The hair, makeup and wardrobe team transformed me into a college student in the early 90s. I loved everyone’s hard work and dedication.
