Whitney Houston Instagram – January 2, 1993: “I’m Every Woman” was released as the second single from “The Bodyguard Original Soundtrack Album.” Written by Ashford & Simpson and originally recorded by Chaka Khan, Whitney’s version was produced by Narada Michael Walden with additional remix production by Clivilles & Cole (who also performed at Whitney’s wedding!) The single was a huge hit, peaking at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100, #1 on the Dance Club Songs Chart and #5 on the Hot R&B HIp Hop Songs Chart. It also won Whitney an NAACP Image Award for ‘Outstanding Music Video’ and a Grammy nomination for ‘Best Female R&B Vocal Performance.’
Directed by @randeestnicholas, the video included appearances by Chaka Khan, Cissy Houston, TLC, Valerie Simpson and a pregnant Whitney 🤗💜
