Things like shopping centres, buildings, car parks. Schools have not been spared from these fire sales. The department for education employed an external body (private company) to earmark suitable land for sale from schools. Since 2010 215 files were sold and in 2022 a further 316 were earmarked for sale. These are local assets, things that we own. The family silver is being flogged from under us. Schools have been purposely underfunded in order to push them into private hands. PFI’s and the academy system (which private companies run the schools).
