Tap centering, but with some stabilization tricks and slow mo to try and better visualize the process. #pottery #potterywheel

Messing with moon jar form in a way that assuredly someone else has done. Soldate clay body.

Knob mugs, trying three different handles with three different glazes at three slightly different sizes to see if I can arrive at a workable form worth trying to repeat. Goal is a mug that can accommodate a variety of grips while also being able to stack them. (A lot of effort being put into avoiding pulling handles huh)

Vase, bmix with a celadon glaze and much more subtle crackle than this picture suggests.

First teapot, blue celadon glaze. It pours poorly, the chonky lid doesn’t quite fit in, but I like the base form and ergonomics of the knob handle.

Three cups, porcelain. The last one is interesting because my unsteady hand while carving it makes the facets look like they’re blurry! #pottery

Gotta figure out how to not do big ol chonk boi lids, but this is my first teapot, off the hump.
Too small to be a good mug rounder, too dangerous a shape to be a good, uh, other thing. Truly a tragic end result.
Porcelain is satisfying to me at every stage. Thrown, it’s felt in the fingertips. Trimming with sharp tools let’s you sliver it away. Bisqued (and shrunk) lets you get very thin but still feels sturdy, and it like rings when you ping it with your fingernail. Ahhhhh yeah. (Trying @floriangadsby’s footring)
Spoon rests, porcelain. Gift for a friend.
Rice bowl, porcelain. I think a big thick round glaze such as this one doesn’t quite pair well with the thinner delicate forms you can get with porcelain. Such a glaze also hides my SINS when trimming.
Another view. Getting all the bits to feel like a cohesive whole boy oh boy that’s like the whole trick ain’t it
