California Democrat Barbara Lee led the way back in the early 2000s when she refused to vote to fund George W. Bush’s wars. In return, Barbara was maligned by left and right, receiving hate mail. Kudos to Tim Caine for this! An actual Democrat urging caution because of past US involvement in the Middle East failing. Well, Tim says our efforts in the region aren’t “appreciated.” I’ll say! We were despised all over the Middle East before the current genocide because of needless bloodshed in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria and Yemen. Gullible Americans cheered for these operations because we were “spreading democracy.” Ain’t no democracy spread with bombs!
Tim was Hillary’s 2016 running mate. This was the first time I’ve seen him distinguish himself from the warmongers in any way. Not only is Biden bypassing Congress to send weapons to Israel, but these are the actions of a dictator who refuses to work within checks and balances of Congress. Biden is doing what his supporters claimed Trump would do. In as much as Democrats are on the left, the left always advocates for caution and diplomacy. Once again, Biden proves he’s center-right, and in the wrong party.
