And Dua Lipa looks like the back of an air conditioner! Don’t you dare tell Ru!
Will Democrats learn the lesson they failed to learn in 2016 in 2024? That lesson was “Don’t ignore your base and expect to win.” Also that Democrats who suck put Trump in office the first time, and Joe is less popular now than Hillary was in 2016. If current poll numbers stick, Biden has already lost most swing states which he needs. The best way to ensure a Trump victory is running Biden. Remarkably, Democrats accuse me of supporting Trump for warning them about the obvious. This is your brain on corporate media. Biden was the hold-your-nose candidate in 2016, before funding genocide. I doubt that disgruntled Biden voters will pull a lever for Trump. I do imagine having two candidates 72% of the country doesn’t want will depress turnout. How could it build enthusiasm?
The guy at the beginning of this clip is a paid Biden operative who was caught months ago claiming that he wasn’t paid for his support.
I left the Dem party in 2016 after they cheated the first candidate I ever sent a donation to: Bernice Sanders. Loving in a solidly blue state, where the Democrat will always win, I could vote Green Party or Cornel West or Marianne Williamson or write in Shirley Chisholm and Biden would still win in NY. Same as in a solidly red state—the GOP candidate will always win. Voters in swing states who vote Democrat but switch to 3rd party could be said to help Trump’s tally beat Biden’s. That assertion assumes that Biden ever had their votes in the first place, though. He never had mine, and with his shameful actions in the Middle East, I’m glad the blood of Palestinians isn’t on my hands.
But this meme is telling. My mom told me she’s had to vote for the lesser of two evils for her whole life. Y’all call me ancient—imagine how old she is! I vote FOR policies which I think would benefit me and most. You vote for whoever you want. But if I don’t vote for a 3rd party or Independent who campaigns on Medicare for All, higher minimum wage, affordable insurance, housing and college, peace, addressing climate chaos—then I don’t actually support any of those things with my chest, Ariana! I just say I do while voting for a party which doesn’t. There is no better time than at a point when 72% of the nation wants neither Biden nor Trump to prove that we need more and better options and 3rd parties which provide them. Negative campaigning allegedly works on some voters, but you only need to smear your opponent so much if you have few accomplishments to brag on when you were in power besides war.
Your government does not care about you. This is clear proof. If you think the USA is a force of good on the globe, you’ve been sleepwalking while reading war propaganda as news—since Vietnam! Show me one program for Americans both parties fight do hard for. I’m waiting…
Over the last few years, I’ve criticized Biden and his defenders say “We can pay to help poor and homeless people AND fund a war.” Maybe we technically can, but we don’t. Because of two political parties based on greed.
Would you think that digging mass graves for the 100 Palestinians killed yesterday are the kind of sight which might accompany a genocide?
I love Mary J. Blige and she always looks nice, but she was not in the mood for a red carpet that night!
Multiple polls showing Trump beating Biden. Here’s a new one from CNN. Another from Morning Consult shows Trump winning every crucial swing state. For a party whose voters like to paint Trump as a unique evil and a threat to democracy, why don’t Dem voters have enough gumption to demand that Joe step down? In 2020, Joe defeated Trump, and while running in that election, aware of his age, Biden hinted that he wouldn’t run again in 2024.
Why don’t Democrats work to dump him instead of risk defeat? You can call or email his office right now. Biden was losing to Trump before he became Genocide Joe. If he stays in the race, what’s the Dem strategy? Pray that one of Trump’s many charges stick so that he can’t run? Which of his many legal issues have prevented him running which would give you that hope?
It’s so dishonest for a Biden employee to claim that Trump will start wars which Biden is actually starting. Trump may well start wars if elected again, but Biden is fueling them right now. The world wasn’t inflamed with war when Trump was president. It is under Biden. People will draw that comparison whether you like it if not.
But don’t count on Trump for peace if elected. He’s as hawkish as Biden on Israel, and wildly, he finally unveiled his plans for Ukraine if he wins. They aren’t that different from Biden’s, even though Trump and his America First “populist” crowd gave Trump credit for not being gung ho on sending weapons to Ukraine. In this respect, they overlap with progressives who would also rather spend tax dollars on Americans and their social safety net.
At one point, Trump said of Ukraine that he just wanted the killing to stop. And while Trump is adept at dog whistling to signal that he wants what his supporters want, you never heard 1 corporate Democrat say “Stop the killing in Ukraine.” Democrats act concerned about Ukrainian civilian deaths and then send more bombs to prolong the war— after NATO scuttled peace talks. Just like Democrats, including Biden, feigning concern over Palestines, only to arm their murderers to the teeth.
I would almost respect Biden and Trump more if they just campaigned on “We know we’re horrible and few want either one of us, but lol!” That would be more honest.
The majority of Americans in all parties want a ceasefire, yet neither presidential candidate in either majority party wants one. Hungh? And you say you don’t understand the need for 3rd parties who don’t work for the war machine? Then to the 80% of Dems who want a ceasefire, 57% of GOP voters and a slightly higher number of Independents, what is your plan to attain a ceasefire? Voting for hawks?
I’m not sure who said that “Democracy can’t exist without an informed electorate.” Yet here we are in an election year, and the media which should inform us is misleading us daily.
Michael Rapaport isn’t far-left. I’m considered far-left bc I support Medicare 4 All, higher min wage, paid sick leave, cutting war budgets, etc. But in Europe, where universal healthcare is more common, I would be just plain ol’ left. Rappaport is a centrist Dem, which would be called center-right in Europe, as would Biden. And by the way, I’m not aware of any far-left voters who are warming up to supporting Trump. I’m not saying that there are zero of them, but how left can you if you consider voting for GOP?
Sorry, NY Post! Fox says stuff like this nightly, that Biden is under the sway of far-left politicians like AOC & Bernie Sanders. I wish! Maybe Joe would’ve achieved 1/3 of his legislative goals if he were. Billionaire-owned corporate media seeks to paint anyone remotely progressive as far-left to denigrate them. You’ll notice that all news media left & right paints the millions of pro-Palestinian protestors as far-left, also. It’s a smear. Medicare 4 All, higher min wage & a ceasefire are majority-supported positions, not the stuff of fringe lefties. Why don’t editors want you to know that?
PS: The truly far-left are socialists & communists. I don’t think there are any card-carrying socialists elected to national office. There’s Claudia Cruz and Karina Garcia running in the Socialist party, but they’re polling at 2-3%. And AOC & Bernie Sanders destroyed their progressive credibility by early-endorsing Biden. I’d love to know where Fox & NY Post think these socialists are hiding.
What are some of the “scary” government programs we enjoy because at one time, progressives weren’t powerless? Public schools, roads, libraries, unemployment, fire departments and Social Security. In fact, Social Security and unemployment came about not because FDR was a great president of the people, but because people demanded a social safety net after the Depression. FDR told us to make him do it and people did. Dems today demand nothing except that the president not be Trump.
I would say this headline is clearly Islamophobic, and from a major news outlet. Just because someone in Dearborn worships at a mosque, doesn’t mean they are automatically terrorists, or involved in any jihad at all. Has there been any jihad in Dearborn or Michigan? This is truly outlandish!
But there’s nothing like streaming images of their relatives being dragged from rubble to radicalize youth to a point where they’d be more likely to join with jihadis. The US can’t fund a genocide and not expect repercussions for years to come.
I wish that the WSJ, since it’s so concerned with routing out jihad in Michigan, might question the fact that just such a radicalization will result from the hawkish policies advocated by their paper.
Are there extremists in the Muslim community who seek jihad? Sure! But not average Muslims, any more than a fairly small community of snake-handling Christians represent average ones. Or like the large group of evangelicals who seek war in the Holy Land in order to hasten the rapture.
Connie Fleming in Harper’s Bazaar!
Besides a few disgruntled customers who Connie may not have let into Mr. Black’s or other hotspots where she’s manned the door, everyone I know loves Connie. Each of her recent triumphs lifts my heart because at my core, I’m a huge fan. And while she is a rare trans modeling sensation since Thierry Mugler used her on the runway in the 90s, most on the scene were just glad that others saw what we saw in Connie: the embodiment of beauty and chic, irregardless of gender. To boil her down to only trans would be to downplay her incredible performances, her sweetness, her artwork, and her LOL humor. And as I’ve said for years, if this beesh ever picks up the mic and starts hosting, a lot of girls will be out of a job. Here’s to Connie, and all of her many talents!
More language which dehumanizes Arabs as insidious insects which must be stamped out. Gee, I wonder what’s made those insects get so mad? Could it be that the West has been slaughtering them for one reason or another for thousands of years?
What was the Crusades except a bunch of Europeans headed to the Middle East to smite Arabs as infidels. I’m not a historian, but something tells me that the West’s desire to smite someone of another faith had less to do with religion, and more to do with wanting to steal stuff from this part of the war even before we needed their oil!
This is from the NY Times—liberals’ #1 bible. This rag would never make a comparison between gays and insects, or blacks and insects. If the comparison were made, any editor would reject such a piece. Why don’t they reject it for Arabs? Because Western media has successfully desensitized their readers with stuff like this over the years. “This isn’t genocide—I just squashed some bugs.” Once relegated to insect or animal status, it doesn’t really matter if Palestinians are made to live in an open air prison, drink what little unclean water there is, beg for food, or get killed by the tens of thousands. Cuz they aren’t fully human, in Thomas Friedman’s mind.
It’s Black History Month. Remember the argument over whether or not slaves were less than whites with less rights? We’re seeing a similar attitude expressed in The NY Times in 2024.
There’s just one problem: Arabs are human beings with a right to live with basic rights on their own land. Just like Jews, whites, blacks, Latinos, Asians and everyone else. Even Bianca Del Rio!
Biden claimed the pandemic was over to help him in the 2022 midterms. Does 38% of 1 county sick with Covid make it seem like it’s over to you? This looks like it’s in full swing.
This is Biden’s and Trump’s plans reaching fruition. Both of their 2020 campaigns were heavily billionaire-funded, to ensure that mainly the wealthy get richer. In fact, Biden had more billionaire donors in 2020 than Trump.
Progressives distinguished themselves in 2016 by not taking PAC money, indicating that they would be less likely to be bought by lobbyists and mainly working for the people. Even as recently as Obama’s presidency, he spoke out vs Citizens United and money in politics. Progressives said “We want more honest politicians!” And centrist Democrats said “No thanks! How about the bought and sold Hillary Clinton and Biden instead?” Imagine choosing more openly corrupt politicians and dreaming that you’re doing anyone in the country a favor, or representing anyone except business interests.
Well, if most rank and file Democrats want a ceasefire, as do most Dem voters, then put your feet down for once and demand a ceasefire. Why is your leadership going against most in their party to act more like hawkish Republicans than like lefties? This isn’t because Biden and Pelosi are too old—it’s because of their donors. Same as Ritchie Torres.
