Nick Baga Instagram – “When we enjoy the process the results become inevitable.”
Woke up to this quote sent to me from a friend this morning and I couldn’t agree more. As the year starts getting underway and I’m back in hustle mode I realize that how we feel when we are doing ‘the thing’ has a big impact on the outcome.
Here I am doing my first self tape audition of the year and this is exactly the advice I need. Often times when an audition would roll in, although excited I would also carry with me a bit of stress about the prep, set up and all the other things that go along with it. I forget to have fun with the process and enjoy it while I’m doing it.
All of our favorite actors, dancers, athletes all truly enjoy their craft, including all of the preparation. That is why they excel, why we watch with awe as they make it look easy. Because it’s all fun to them and although it may be hard work and take much effort, when we love what we do the effort feels effortless.
I’m taking this advice with me and keeping it in my pocket. I am definitely guilty of allowing perfectionism and efficiency to take the fun out of the things that should fill me up.
And honestly if we enjoy doing it while we are doing it the outcome is irrelevant.
