🌄 Have you seen my newest Rambling Rides video?! My husband, Shawn rides along and chats a little about the calendar we have been doing together for over a decade. (He’s not one for being in front of the camera, so I was proud of him for doing this!) 🎥 🛻
🌟I’ve included the YouTube link in my profile.
❤️ The first photo of us was taken almost 14 years ago when Shawn was taking a few of the 2011 calendar photos in our hometown of London, Ontario. Did you know we were both born in the same hospital? (Shawn was there a year earlier than me though – which is typical because he shows up early for everything)😌
💌 And for those who “missed” my January newsletter – you actually didn’t miss anything. After many of you that had signed up were not receiving the letters we decided to review some new platforms – So stay tuned on that, but for now you can find all the Rambling Rides videos on my YouTube Channel. ☺️
‼️ General Note: I do NOT charge anything for a “fan club.” I’ve had many fans reach out and say that they’ve been contacted by me or “my team” to pay for a membership. Please note this is a SCAM! It does NOT cost anything nor do I charge money to receive any of my letters or promotions. The unfortunate part is there are far too many of these going on and they’re too hard to track to be able to report. Please be cautious and know that if someone is asking for money over the Internet, best to just stay away. ⚠️

I recently passed the 1 Million followers mark on Instagram and it got me thinking about the content I’ve posted over the past 11 years…
I have never been big on “selfies,” or photos of what I’m up to, but I do love sharing my farm, and the animal friends that adopt this space with us.
The very first post I made on this account back in December 2012 was of our cat “Turner Valley” curled up on my bed. 📸 I had Shawn take this photo of me with her today to give an honourable mention to this sweet old kitty.
“Turner Valley” was a stray I brought home in June of 2010. Heartland was filming in the town of Turner Valley and there was a litter of kittens born in an old storage shed in town. After confirming with the owners of the property that the cats were in fact strays… I set out on a mission that day to give one a good home. *For anyone out there who’s tried to catch eight-week-old untouched, stray kittens, it can be quite the challenge!! They are feisty little things and put up a good fight. After obtaining some thick leather gloves from our costume department I set out with a towel and was able to grab this little black and white hissing ball of fluff. I named her after the town she was born in, and took her home to begin gaining her trust.
Turner has never been a cuddly cat, and prefers the company of dogs to humans or other cats, but for 14 years she has had a warm bed to sleep in and a full tummy. Her best friend was our old shepherd, Remi (yes from Heartland) who we brought home the same summer. They bonded instantly and Turner would always be the first to run to Remi and greet her, rubbing all over her and purring loudly. As soon as Remi found a good place to take a nap, Turner was there cuddled beside her. (Story too long for this post and continued in comments)
Thanks for reading this #MarshallSundayStory! Any requests for next weeks Animal Story? 😊

🐰 Today we honour the life of Mimsy. This Flemish Giant mix was born on our farm in the spring of 2015. Mimsy first went to live in the city with my friend Donna, but when he grew too large (and destructive) to be a free roaming house bunny, she brought him back to the farm to live with his sister Strawberry. They had an important job, to keep the grass mowed down in our chicken runs! These two loved their day job and were inseparable for many years. We lost Strawberry last year to natural causes, and I knew Mimsy wasn’t going to go too far behind his sister. Since he was used to having a companion, I decided to bring home a beautiful young Flemish Giant for Mimsy to spend his time with. We called her Raspberry and Mimsy loved her. They would share their snacks and houses and groom each other often.
Sadly, Mimsy recently decided it was his time to cross the 🌈 bridge to be with his sister. With so much going on, I wasn’t ready to bring a new bunny into our home, but I also didn’t want Raspberry to be lonely. After some thinking about what would be best, I reached out to my friend @GlassMenagerieFarm to see if she would consider adding this sweet girl back into her gang. I am so happy she was accepting of the idea, as Raspberry now gets to live at her birth home and be reunited with her bunny family. 🐰

🎉 1 MILLION 🎊
578 weeks ago… or December 29th 2012, I put up my first Instagram post. What a journey it has been over the past decade sharing my world through this platform. I have had many smiles & laughs (and even the odd eye roll) from interacting with this community. Thank you for being here, thank you for supporting this journey and above all…
❤️ THANK YOU FOR BEING YOU ❤️
Also, a big thank you to @Deelown and @Schane for shooting this awesome drone footage, to my hubby Shawn for transporting my “crew of 2” around, and to @DowntownKatieBrown for helping me put this video together.
Thank you #AmbersHorseHawk for carrying me around the deep snow in strange patterns so I could figure out how to legibly spell 1M to be read from the sky.
Last but not least, thank you to @CWrobleski for being the one who pushed me to download this “fun little Instagram app…” Look how far we’ve come!!

The DEEP FREEZE is on its way! One of the most important things on the farm is to make sure the animals have plenty of good quality feed for these colder days. Our horses and cattle stay outside year-round, and although they’re well adapted for these colder temperatures, having good forage and access to fresh water is very important in helping them regulate their body temperature.
My little Bonnie showed up with a facial abscess a few weeks ago, and after a visit from our vet she is back to herself. For those who are interested, here is a video of the procedure. Note: Graphic images (if you have a weak stomach please note there is the presence of blood) We don’t know exactly what caused the abscess, sometimes it can be a small puncture from a stick or something that isn’t noticed under their fur, then later becomes infected. Since my cows are out in a wooded area, this was most likely the cause. #AmbersJerseyBonnie
The windows are having a hard time keeping the cold from sneaking in… ❄️
Shared some smiles as Pony Bradshaw rocked the stage this weekend. Well done. 💃🏼🕺🏼
Everyone has different ways to get their fire going… I like to start with my initial… 😁
She tells me she’s an Amber Marshall fan… and I believe it. 🥰❤️ #AmbersDogAutumn
