Very frustrating. 😣😩 But with practice… lots and lots of practice, we get better; And that feeling of ACCOMPLISHMENT is so gosh darn satisfying. I’m not a dancer. I only started taking “hip hop” type classes recently. We didn’t have this kind of dance when I was growing up. It’s very different from the jazz/tap classes I took as a little girl in the seventies. (Late 70’s 😉) Hip-Hop rules go against everything. It’s like nothing else- And I was NEVER good at it. I still have so far to go! …But I’ve come so far. And THAT, my friends, is so gratifying. I invite you to try something new. Step outside your “comfort” box. Challenge yourself. The reward is priceless. And it will feel soooo good. There are some days – where everything clicks and it ALL just comes together… You got a good night’s sleep and ate a nutritious breakfast… However, THIS was not one of those days. 😂😂😂 I promised y’all some “BLOOPERS” and I’m delivering. Truth be told, I spent most of my time in the back of this class. I kept getting frustrated with my brain which just didn’t seem to want to work with me. I almost walked out a couple of times because it just was not cooperating and I simply could not grasp @odellartist ‘s SWEET choreography for the life of me. Happy to report, I stuck it out. 👍👊👊👊 People ask me WHY I dance. It’s fun. It’s a great workout. It requires great deal of focus, And it’s very difficult to think about anything but the STEPS, while you are there. For 45 minutes, NOTHING else matters. This makes it VERY therapeutic. Plus, moving my body to music feels wonderful. (Despite the fact that I am 20 years older than the average person in class, and had surgery on both feet 6 months ago) Dancing just makes me happy. So when people ask why I dance. I say, because I CAN. Good or bad, It is a gift to be able to do so. And I’m very grateful. Get out there and challenge yourself, folks.
