Here’s to fifteen years, @rupaulsdragrace! Still one of the best days of my life.
Update: we were guest judges on season 10! This is not upcoming, it’s past.
Had a ridiculous time seeing U2 at the Sphere with Kumail; Carlos, my best friend of THIRTY years; and his brother Nate.
Carlos and I bonded over loving U2 when we were 14 and we finally got to see them together!

Had the delight of 1) eating at @casitamex 2) having a triple date with David & Grace, John & Chrissy, and Kumail, and 3) being on #chrissyanddavedineout! And amazingly, I got to accomplish all these things at once.
It’s on @hulu today!
And if you’re in SoCal, GO EAT AT LA CASITA MEXICANA. It’s worth it.

Saw the wondrous @kateberlant doing KATE last night at the @pasadenaplayhouse and I am forever changed. If you’re in LA, or Pasadena, you must go.
Couldn’t figure out how to get the whole look in without doubling it.

This special was so so good and such a great way to experience Jacqueline Novak.
The special is about sex, but she comes at it from an angle you haven’t seen before. It’s dense, it’s enthusiastic, it’s real, and it’s very funny.
I’m so happy it exists.
I got to help writer/director/friend @aeyshacarr make a funny, weird, resonant as hell, gorgeous short a few months ago, thanks to @staymacro.
Now that it’s almost locked, I cannot wait for the world to see it. Stay tuned for updates on Lineage!
Not pictured: final cast member @rosannaarquette, who had already wrapped when we did the sitcom-esque photo, and the rest of our tiny but mighty crew. You’ll see photos of them soon…

Books I’ve loved lately.
1 & 2- Waltpaper’s in-depth photo/memoir about the club kid scene in nyc in the 90s. It’s a delicious feast.
3- Monsters by Claire Dederer- a funny, honest, smart look at how we deal with art we love created by people who turn out to be, well, monsters.
4- White Cat, Black Dog by Kelly Link- classic fairytales set in our world. One has a guy going on a magical underworld quest to rescue his husband. Her writing makes the world seem magical.
5- The Guest by Emma Cline- man, Emma’s so good. This is the story told from the perspective of what I would call a chaos person. It’s so insightful and cringey and entertaining.
