From my first film as an extra in Bollywood movie (Desi Boys!) to leading roles in movie’s premiering at Leicester Square! The last decade has been a WILD ride!!
As I step into the next decade ahead of me, I’m reminded of how every single film set I have been fortunate to step foot on has shaped who I am and the glorious career I’ve been lucky to have so far. 🩷
When my mother was pregnant with me, my parents were advised I would be a very sick baby and would never live a normal life. From being bullied so bad, I was even strangled on the school bus, to attending over 7 schools due to moving house so that frequently that I struggled to retain friendships.
After an accident at work during my GCSE’s, and discovering I had early onset osteoporosis, I was told I’d probably never walk properly again and I’d certainly never have a career in film, so I dropped out of performing arts college. I then fell pregnant at 19, had my beautiful daughter, fell again at 21 and tragically lost my second baby- I guess the doctors were right- I was not born to live a ‘normal’ life- the resistance against my existence has been FIERCE.
But Diamonds are not formed in squishy, warm, cosy environments- they are formed under PRESSURE 💎
Reminding myself of everything I have overcome only makes me blessings even more, as I reflect on what an adventure the last 10 years have been. 🙏🏼✨
And knowing the fires I have already risen from, gives me confidence to know I can overcome anything that is still to come 🔥
