I remember reading this script for the first time and crying my eyes out because I felt seen and heard. Here I was, a California native, having a visceral experience reading a script written by @mallorieoh , a Filipina-American woman all the way from Maryland. That was the first time I realized how truly necessary it was for our stories to be told in our narrative. It was the first time I truly felt understood as a Filipino-American.
