Jessica Gagen Instagram – Yesterday I visited NASA’s iconic VAB!
The VAB (Vehicle Assembly Building) was completed in 1966 and has since processed 12 Apollo missions, 4 Skylab missions, 1 Apollo-Soyuz project, 1 Ares 1 mission, Artemis 1 and all 135 Space Shuttle missions!
Quick facts about the VAB:
🚀 At 3,684,883 cubic meters, it is one of the largest buildings in the world by volume!
🚀 The American flag painted on the building is 209ft tall and 110ft wide – each star is 6ft across!
🚀 The building is made of 65,000 cubic yards of concrete and its frame contains 98,590 tons of steel!
