At Chef Patron Nuno Mendes’ culinary haven, every dish tells his personal story showcasing Lisbon’s rich culture and gastronomic heritage. Chef Nuno is just the nicest person too! I adore him! The highlight of my experience was Nuno’s twist on a classic pastel de nata, but turned savory– a prawn nata! I love raw seafood and pastel de natas, so this dish was right up my alley. This little cute tart housed a silky slightly sweet prawn custard topped with a totally delish smoked red prawn tartare. It was reminiscent of a prawn rissois, a fried Portugese turnover stuffed with creamy shrimp, and apparently the inspiration for this yummy bite. Lisboeta is Chef Nuno’s love letter to his home country, offering an authentic taste of the city’s lifestyle and traditions, but with exciting and surprising twists and turns. Judy Joo Instagram – It’s freezing outside!  And, the best time to enjoy this soul-warming Kimchi Jjigae! A staple in Korean households, this stew marries pork belly with deeply fermented kimchi, creating a blend of spicy, savory, and tangy flavors. 

The key to this warming soup’s rich depth of flavor is  very ripe fermented kimchi, simmered with pork to perfection. Add tofu at the end for a textural  contrast and a drizzle of nutty sesame oil for fragrance. 

This stew usually comes to the table bubbling in a ceramic bowl straight off the stove.  It is a comforting dinner that warms you from the inside.
