Before I share any more about this collection a massive shout out is in order for the incredible team at @crateandbarrel and all the artists that work alongside me to bring these collections to life. This crew, that you see right here, are truly one of a kind story tellers — the best of the best — each with a special gift that is a critical part of what we create and how we share it all with you. These collections are collaborations on so many different levels and I could not be more grateful to be able to continue to bring projects like this one to life with them. Some of them are new and some are the very best same friends who have been there since day one with me!
First of all — the entire team at @crateandbarrel . There isn’t a person I work with or interact with there that isn’t a joy. And I’m not just saying that because you’re my “bosses,” ya know! It’s an incredible team of creative comrades.
@amyneunsinger — She has shot all of my Crate campaigns. I trust her eye, vision, light, and translation to show the ideas in my head and bring them to life.
@hilaryrobertson — I’m forever a fan girl of her. She comes in and helps creative-direct the shoot as well as style my pieces in new and beautiful and unique ways — always pushing the limits of what I saw to start with and how we can see it now!
@lowfield_official — This is the dynamic duo, Sarah Barlow and Stephen Schofield, of a photography team that has shot my campaigns, my wedding, and some of the most important personal moments of my life. Including most of our @FEELFREE covers!

A few weeks ago I sat down with my friend @jakearnold on his podcast with @theexpert and something he said reminded me of one of my favorite concepts from John C Maxwell that my husband introduced me to, “Say no to the good, so that you can say yes to the great.”

When we moved back to our little town right outside of Pittsburgh I told anyone who wants to open (or update!) a business around here that I would love to help. I want to do my part to see our town flourish and grow. Sarah Pelco took me up on the offer for her Salon! And I’m so glad. Such a fun project and a great addition to Sewickley.
The starting points of the salon were already there when we walked in. They had already begun painting the walls a lovely gray. (Not my usual choice, so it was fun to go with it!) We decided to keep and work with the previous tenants’ epoxied floor, feeling like the grays of the wall made it feel richer than expected.
Since a salon usually feels feminine in nature, it was fun to play with a more “masculine” edge in this space — mixing soft elements like the curves and fabric on this sofa with loads of stone, vintage and earth elements throughout the space. We also painted this vintage cabinet the same exact paint color as the walls to simplify the eye.
And my Hugger Collection for @crateandbarrel comes in this yummy taupe option which tied the whole shebang together.

When we got started on this project they had already painted the walls and epoxied the floors, so we made that our main source of inspiration — leaning into all the warm earthy tones already there. To do this we found all these salvaged marble pieces and pieced them together to make different pieces of furniture like the vanity you see here. Anything can be anything!
Swipe to see the marble graveyard we pulled all of these pieces out of — it was our kind of gold mine (ya know how it goes….one man’s trash, another man’s treasure)!

When we started this project we asked ourselves, “How can we create a salon that feels more like an art installation?” Sarah, the owner of the salon, planned on a large single table centered down the middle of the space. Since the table would be the main focal point in the entire salon (and would be visible from the Main Street) we knew we wanted to create something special. We found crates of incredible salvaged stone in Ohio from @rbxcle and that was the answer. It tied in the gray tones of the walls and the “marbled” floors that already existed in the space.
Demetrius and Nick led the charge on Sarah’s team and helped us fabricate this beautiful custom island out of some old forgotten stone tiles. Swipe to get a close up of these salvaged beauties!

So many of you have been asking about how we made these shelves at our new shop, and first of all, why thank you for noticing! Like so much that we create around here, these were born out of necessity. Since the furniture, art and objects we carry will continue to change in size and form as new inspirations come and go, we needed to create a system with movable/adjustable shelves that could accomodate all the different shapes and sizes we get in. We collaborated with Mike and Jake of @williamsonconstructionpgh and began creating this installation of sorts. Our biggest challenge was finding a material that was both strong enough to not bow in the middle from the weight of heavier pieces like chairs, pots, and more and also beautiful enough to look the part… luckily Mike found these salvaged sycamore slabs, and they did the trick!

Let’s just say that since Mic’s Market has opened in Pittsburgh I’ve done significantly less dishes. Mic’s tagline is: “feels good to feel good.” And I got to admit, we are all feelin’ good and lookin’ great around here. Swipe for the before!

This was the first time we installed a project and had our LF x @buckmason shop open and ready to go with all of our favorite things just sitting there at our fingertips. For the first time, we were able to take things right out of the shop and literally walk them down the street to their forever home. For this project we took pieces from my core collection with @crateandbarrel and paired them with vintage finds and trinkets — creating a space that feels layered and curated but still clean and minimal.
I love how all of my core pieces look different in every space. Wherever they end up they seem to take on a life of their own!
Also if you see anything you love just give us a holler — everything you see is available to you! You can reach the shop at 412.356.5919.

My friend @michaelablaney came to visit me and basically never left. She saw all the love in our little town, fell in love with the people, and immediately saw a need for a healthy grab-and-go food option in our neighborhood.
The truth is that the first night she was here, we watched the @nmeyers movie “It’s Complicated,” and when Meryl Streep opened her spot to make croissants with Steve Martin, Michaela looked over at me and said, “…that’s what I’m gonna do here.”
So, think it, dream it, do it… and here we are grabbing breakfast, lunch AND, (to-go) dinner at @eatmics in Sewickley, PA.

Would you look at that! Honored to be among such great company in this year’s @theexpert top 40.
These sessions with you all are one of the best parts of my workday. If nothing else they just give you a pep talk before you tell the contractor your crazy idea… or to be a creative sounding board for you.
Link in bio to see what it’s all about. I’m ready when you are!

Welcome to my version of the Warhol Factory! A.k.a FEEL FREE headquarters! (A.k.a my basement!)
Last week we had some friends in town from @buckmason and we were lucky enough to take them on a private tour of the @warholmuseum. And let’s just say it has us feeling inspired! One of our all time favorite quotes of Warhol’s is “Don’t think about making art, just get it done. Let everyone else decide if it’s good or bad, whether they love it or hate it. While they are deciding, make even more art.”
Wether we knew it at the time or not that concept is the very essence behind FEEL FREE Magazine. Don’t judge it, don’t overthink it, just CREATE!
Vol. 4 available now!

Nothing is safe in our projects — not even my own designs. Michaela’s team took some power tools to our Haldeman Collection from @crateandbarrel to create some shorter center fixtures for @eatmics. I call this “Michaela Blaney for Leanne Ford for Crate and Barrel.”
When we sat down together to bring her little micro grocer to life she told me she wanted it to feel vibrant, inviting and chic. And whenever I am working with a client I always make sure their vision comes first. So here you have it — inviting, vibrant and chic!
