Leanne Ford Instagram – When we moved back to our little town right outside of Pittsburgh I told anyone who wants to open (or update!) a business around here that I would love to help. I want to do my part to see our town flourish and grow. Sarah Pelco took me up on the offer for her Salon! And I’m so glad. Such a fun project and a great addition to Sewickley. The starting points of the salon were already there when we walked in. They had already begun painting the walls a lovely gray. (Not my usual choice, so it was fun to go with it!) We decided to keep and work with the previous tenants’ epoxied floor, feeling like the grays of the wall made it feel richer than expected. Since a salon usually feels feminine in nature, it was fun to play with a more “masculine” edge in this space — mixing soft elements like the curves and fabric on this sofa with loads of stone, vintage and earth elements throughout the space. We also painted this vintage cabinet the same exact paint color as the walls to simplify the eye.
