Marcia Fudge Instagram – I have made it a priority of mine to embed racial equity into HUD’s governing framework—and we’re making meaningful strides. Take a look at just a few of the ways we are delivering for Black people in this nation under my leadership. ⤵️
1️⃣ HUD has removed some systemic barriers to homeownership and supported approximately a quarter of a million Black homeowners buy a home with FHA mortgages in the last 3 years.
2️⃣ HUD helped over 160,000 Black homeowners avoid foreclosure and stay in their homes since the beginning of the pandemic.
3️⃣ HUD has expanded access to housing counseling to help Black families and individuals unlock the wealth building potential of homeownership.
4️⃣ HUD has invested more than $10 million in Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
5️⃣ HUD has expanded rental assistance and increased the number of Housing Choice Vouchers to people with low incomes.
6️⃣ HUD is providing second chances in HUD-assisted housing for people who have been impacted by prior justice system involvement.
