Barton Cowperthwaite Instagram – During the pandemic I did a shoot with the inimitable @nagi_sakai. He had an incredible creative energy and kindness on set. Years later, I learned that he and his wife had been following my brain tumor journey. When I asked, he generously agreed to take some photos. These portraits were done just two weeks after my brain surgery, the day before I got my staples removed. The lovely @jaimekaywaxman styled.

I’ve always felt that images have a way of capturing moments in ways words can’t. What a blessing to have this one captured through the lens of such an incredible artist. He even brought the lemons!!! 🍋
