Spring is a time of renewal and lightness, both in nature and within us. 🌱
In Ayurveda, spring calls for a shift in our diets to balance the kapha dosha, which tends to accumulate during the colder months. By choosing foods that are light, dry, and warming, we support our bodies in naturally detoxifying and preparing for the vibrant energy of the season ahead. ✨
From the crispness of leafy greens to the zest of fresh herbs, each item on this Ayurvedic spring grocery list is selected to awaken and rejuvenate your body, aligning with nature’s cycle of rebirth. 💛 This list is part of @chopra’s 7-Day Renew & Restore Detox Kit, you may join their Spring Equinox Community Cleanse on March 19th by visiting chopra.com.
May you embrace these changes with mindfulness and joy, nourishing yourself for the blossoming days ahead.

“Is the only purpose of life to get enlightenment?
If yes, does everyone get enlightened?
If the purpose of life is to get enlightened, what is the real purpose of life according to you?
I don’t think happiness is the purpose of life.”
My Response:
There is a natural human state of awareness that has traditionally been called enlightenment where one’s sense of “I” is known and experienced as the ever-present and unlimited awareness that it is.
This awareness is experienced as free from the mind and body’s limitations in time and space.
That recognition of its true status is an awakening or enlightening.
This process of self-realization represents our full, natural human potential because in this state we experience and express joy, love, peace, and wisdom in everything we do.
It is not necessary to think of this awakening and the fulfillment it brings as a purpose to life if that suggests that it is supposed to be a mental project that we strive to achieve—it isn’t.
Enlightenment is an awakening of our awareness that happens beyond the activity of the mind’s conception of it.

Deepak

Is practicing yoga for hours every day healthy?
“Is daily practicing Yoga for 1 to 2 hours healthy?
Is it not too excessive for the muscles of the body?”
My Response:
If you are talking about practicing yoga asanas in the traditional easy, non-straining way, then an hour session in the morning and evening is not excessive.
That kind of gentle practice won’t strain the muscles, as there are counter-movements and rest periods built into a balanced yoga routine.
Yoga instructors may often do more than 2 hours of yoga in the course of teaching classes, without any negative impact.
In fact, it is likely to bring even more benefits.
For most people, it’s usually a question of not doing enough yoga each day, rather than doing too much.
Love,
Deepak

“I am totally new to meditation and have started meditation for the first time in my life with your 21-day Meditation Experience.
During my meditation, I felt a couple of things and would like to know if it is normal to feel those.
(1) I once saw a kind of fire on my forehead followed by a very bright light
(2) In the initial days I felt kind of dizzy while sitting, so I did the meditation while lying down and I felt as if my body was so light as if in the air
(3) I also saw violet, blue and green colors once. – Is it normal?
Also, kindly guide me and advise what kind of meditation I should do once I complete this meditation.
Your guidance will be a great help for me as I have several health problems and I feel very peaceful after starting the meditation and don’t want to stop.
It’s just that I don’t know which direction I should go further.“
My Response:
All of these experiences are fine and normal and represent the natural process of release that happens in the mind and body as awareness begins to expand and open up.
These experiences, seeing a flame on the forehead, feeling light/dizzy in the body, and seeing colors, are not important in their particular details which relate to your individual history, but they are important for indicating that the meditation is working to transform your awareness toward a truer awareness of your real self.

Deepak

How do we keep our passion as an educator?
“As an educator, I find that being in the position of an observer has “killed” my passion for my work, as I just think everyone is on their journey and there is no use in trying to get other people excited or involved.
I find my lack of desire to be involved as a de-motivator and find that I feel quite lost.
I can’t seem to make a decision about what is actually important anymore.
Any ideas?”
My Response:
It’s true that everyone is on their own journey, but that doesn’t mean they don’t need and seek guidance from teachers.
That’s precisely what educators are called to do, teaching is a central aspect of their journey.
The observer you wrote of that you describe as killing your passion, is not your mature spiritual self, but rather it is your conditioned self rejecting your changing role as lacking in some way.
The observing quality of our true self, the silent witness, doesn’t remove you from life, feeling, or motivation; it takes you to the heart of life, the essence of your Being.
As you embrace your role as a teacher, you will discover a different kind of motivation.
Motivation not to try to get students excited about what you think they should, but motivation to help them discover and pursue their own natural interests in their life.
Love,
Deepak
