Jay Hernandez Instagram – Being on joint base Pearl Harbor-Hickam & wearing the uniform is humbling. It’s was special to be able to shoot this scene driving the Ferrari in front of the USS Arizona memorial. I understand firsthand how difficult the commitment of military duty is through family members. Holidays, birthdays, weddings, funerals and perhaps halcyon hours of doing absolutely nothing with the people you love. A lot of us use “patriotism” to falsely claim superiority in the American sociological strata, a way to differentiate between “us” and “them.” The reality is we are all Americans and regardless of where you stand ideologically the ones who serve deserve respect for the commitment to duty. Hats off to all of you men and women, straight, gay, black, white, brown, asian & everything in between.
