You know, we’re having all this talk about things being imposed on kids and it’s finally starting to dawn on people. You know what gets imposed on kids without a word being said about it? Religion. Dogma. Something that could define the rest of your life. For real. So I’m just like, choose it for yourself and realize that everyone else gets to choose theirs for themselves too. But for me, everything comes down to rituals I do, you know, and I like to look at everything from a scientific point of view and then if I was looking at it from a magical or spiritual point of view, what would it be? And then I kind of like marry the two. And I always say that like to believe in magic is a choice, you know, I know how things scientifically work, but I also know that it makes me feel good to light incense and to say a little morning spell or whatever the ritual may be. And so it’s like when I thought about my Catholic upbringing and all of the things that made my family cry and feel guilty and ashamed to go to church was like the stuff at the church, but all of the stuff that we did at home, that was the way we empowered ourselves. And I was like, oh, that’s witchcraft. Like if I strip away the Catholicism, I was actually raised by witches. Once I realized that, I was like, oh, it doesn’t matter what it is. It just needs to be something that is part of the solution and not part of the problem.
