These days it seems like everyone has an opinion on everyone and everything, and the worst thing is these opinions are made by people who don’t know you at all 🤷🏽 To the younger generations reading this, my advice is this: rather than spending time on reading comments on social media – invest that time in yourself. Invest in your growth, invest in achieving your #newpossible for you. Your true asset is your knowledge and your experience. I invested in myself – while I was with the Gurkhas through to United Kingdom’s Special Forces – I kept learning, and growing my mindset. Though I left my school at Year 10 in Nepal, I managed to achieve my Post Graduate Diploma whilst still serving in the busiest job within the UKSF. #NoExcuses. Rather than buying houses from the money I saved through blood, sweat and tears – I literally emptied my savings and if that wasn’t enough, I would take loans to climb big mountains on my holiday break from the military. When my other work collegues had multiple houses in United Kingdom, I had only one. That didn’t bother me, I knew I was preparing myself for something big. It took me 36 years to break that threshold for myself. Finally, I invested in myself by staying fit and healthy – I trained well and I looked after myself. Remember your biggest asset is your wellbeing, your knowledge and your experience.
