Opinions made by people who don’t even know you are meaningless. These days it seems like everyone has an opinion on everyone and everything, and the worst thing is these opinions are made by people who don’t know you at all 🤷🏽
To the younger generations reading this, my advice is this: rather than spending time on reading comments on social media – invest that time in yourself. Invest in your growth, invest in achieving your #newpossible for you. Your true asset is your knowledge and your experience.
I invested in myself – while I was with the Gurkhas through to United Kingdom’s Special Forces – I kept learning, and growing my mindset. Though I left my school at Year 10 in Nepal, I managed to achieve my Post Graduate Diploma whilst still serving in the busiest job within the UKSF. #NoExcuses.
Rather than buying houses from the money I saved through blood, sweat and tears – I literally emptied my savings and if that wasn’t enough, I would take loans to climb big mountains on my holiday break from the military. When my other work collegues had multiple houses in United Kingdom, I had only one. That didn’t bother me, I knew I was preparing myself for something big. It took me 36 years to break that threshold for myself.
Finally, I invested in myself by staying fit and healthy – I trained well and I looked after myself. Remember your biggest asset is your wellbeing, your knowledge and your experience. Work on those 3 pillars – the rest is history. 👊🏽💥

Skydive Nimsdai 🪂 Different people do extreme sports for different reasons but for me it’s my meditation – it heals me from my inner soul, makes me happy and helps me to re-align with my purpose. It takes me away from all the noise and helps me refocus on my goals, ambitions and purpose.
I’m glad to turn this hobby and passion into a business with purpose. The Foundation was set up to give back. To help those in need across all the Big Mountain coms like the Big Mountain Clean Up aim to protect the sacred mountains for the next generation by helping to removing the waste that has built up over decades, and by making the mountain safer by removing old ropes, which pose a danger to climbers.
But the @nimsdai_foundation does more than just this, it helps with emergency funds like the current Nepal Earthquake Appeal and previous Pakistan Flood Appeal – helping to get vital support to those that need it on the ground via our in-country networks. It also helps with educational projects and providing schooling and helps to get veterans into the mountain as a rehabilitative force for good.
Our next big project is already in the works, a Porters Lodge at Lobuche, Nepal. Porters are the unsung heroes of the mountains, carrying bags, gear and supplies up and down the trails. The Porters Lodge will be specially designed, providing somewhere to rest for the night, as well as a community hub with a café for trekkers, Sherpas and Porters to use.
We believe that by doing our bit, and working together, we can create positive change. We only have one home, the Earth. To achieve our big plans we need like-minded individuals and corporate game changers to work with us. Nothing is impossible when we work together. NEPAL NEEDS YOU. In recent days Nepal has been hit by a deadly earthquake – the second of its kind in as many months.
On November 4th at least 128 people were killed when a magnitude 5.7 earthquake hit the western area of Jajarkot – destroying homes and businesses. The tremors were felt as far away as India’s capital New Delhi.
This is the second large quake to hit the mountainous area recently. A 6.3 magnitude earthquake hit the far western Nepal district of Bajhang, on October 3rd – with a further 5.3 magnitude aftershock hitting the region the following day. Thousands have lost their homes and livelihoods in some of the worst earthquakes to hit Nepal since the deadly 2015 quake.
The scale of the devastation is only now coming to light due to these remote locations – the Nimsdai Foundation needs your support to help families left homeless and forced to live in the open due to recurring aftershocks. With winter drawing in on these mountainous regions, we need to act now to keep families safe.
We are looking to fundraise £15,000 – with a further £15,000 being match funded by the @nimsdai_foundation Making a total disaster fund of £30,000 available to support the communities with food, shelter and vital supplies as the temperatures drop.
The @nimsdai_foundation is well placed, due to our links with the mountain communities in Nepal, to act fast and ensure vital supplies reach those in need.
