I’m suppose to be on a plane now, heading to the UK and starting the next part of my life. Instead, I’m in bed, unshaven, with a pre-malignant tumour, and at such a low point mentally. There seems to be a recurring theme in my career of nearly getting there, and then something comes outta nowhere to ruin it. The pandemic, Malaysia, the algorithm, an unalive attempt, you name it, I’ve failed it. Someone shared at my farewell gig that it’s a shame that I’m one of the hardest working comedians in South East Asia, and I’ve gotten nowhere with it. I’d admit, the career isn’t where I’d hope it would be. But it’s where I’m happy to have been. Fame is amazing, cash is even better, but the people and places I’ve seen while trying to keep financially afloat? Lifesavers. I meant what I said at the farewell gig. The people who keep saying ‘who’s that’ when they hear my name, I’ll work so hard that they’ll have to pretend they knew me all along. Not for me, please, I like the quiet life, but for all of y’all that have put your faith in me. You have helped in this ever so dark period, and I’ll do what I can. So, what to post with an update like this? Here’s a picture of a Santa Claus I saw outside of @500cafebangkok, a kink bar/cafe in Bangkok. Yes I went in. Yes I wore something fun. No you can’t see it unless @netflixasia buys my special.
