His words in the midst of this war that has taken the lives of so many children, so many civilians, so many people, have been remarkable and beautiful and given insight to people across the globe of what living in this war and occupation means for families trying to survive. I pray for a ceasefire, I pray that hostages are returned to their families, I pray that after this level of destruction as much money is put into the rebuilding as into the demolition. And I pray for all of us to recognize that none of this is okay. It’s just not okay. I don’t know the way through, but I know that interrogating poets isn’t it.
