Playing a “victim” may seem like a weak character to play but the physical and emotional strength needed to pull off a dramatic role like this, to me, is one of the hardest things and actor can do…
Nothing requires every single ounce of emotion, energy, and full-out commitment to make it real, take after take after take.
While it is “make believe” you DO have to go to that place of terror … You have to let those vulnerabilities and fears take over, and that’s an extremely challenging place to be (on and off set) if you’re not properly trained.
I’ve taken a break from roles like this in recent years and it’s felt amazing to do more comedy and lighter work— But this is always my foundation and work I will always be proud of 🎭
