Playing a “victim” may seem like a weak character to play but the physical and emotional strength needed to pull off a dramatic role like this, to me, is one of the hardest things and actor can do… Nothing requires every single ounce of emotion, energy, and full-out commitment to make it real, take after take after take. While it is “make believe” you DO have to go to that place of terror … You have to let those vulnerabilities and fears take over, and that’s an extremely challenging place to be (on and off set) if you’re not properly trained. 🎭 It’s not where you start, it’s where you finish🩰✨ This week is bittersweet…I love celebrating LOVE for Valentines — But the day also happens to be my Grandmothers Birthday… and also happens to be the day she passed. She was special. She was one of my biggest cheerleaders and supporters. Everything I did in my young acting years was thanks to her. I’m on this path largely because of her. Sometimes I feel like I’d be so much further along than where I am if she was still here … but then I get little reminders that popped up today like this one I posted a while back, along with the quote— “It’s not where you start, it’s where you finish” — It was a song she had me learn when I was very young for one of my first auditions.. .
