It’s something that has been ingrained into us by advertising, popular media and people’s behaviour – all of which set up the expectation (even as young girls) that we don’t ‘measure up’.
💁♀️ Of course we survive despite it, and on the one hand that survival is powerful – but on the other, it helps perpetuate the idea that a lack of confidence is something we simply have to live with.
This lack of self-confidence has long-term negative consequences that bleed into all areas of our lives. However, we don’t have to let it control us. Awareness is the first step to taking back control and conquering your negative thoughts 💪
