My first Fluorescein Eye Stain Test.
Not gonna lie I felt a little apprehensive about this test today but after chatting to a few of you on here I felt reassured. A few months before Christmas the hospital had noticed a little sack of fluid in my left eye very close to my pupil, it is quite common to get problems when you have had type 1 diabetes as long as I have. My Doctor decided to do further investigations on this which has included the fluorescein eye stain test today. My goodness I have never had so many bright lights flashing in my eyes, it wasn’t comfortable at all and had to take a lot of breaks due to my eyes non stop watering , but the best thing was is the two lovely nurses who got me through it today, we were making jokes saying that Imagine I’m watching David guetta in Ibiza as the constant multi colour flashing lights were going on to take pictures and scans of my eyes and I decided to start singing ‘I’m good yeah I’m feeling alright’ by David guetta to help me get through it😂Everything appeared to be the colour orange for a little while after which felt extremely strange! So although today was a bit uncomfortable with the lovely NHS team around me and me being my daft self we managed to add some light hearted humour into this which got me through it! Oh and ignore the state of my face I don’t wear much make up for these kind of things as my eyes water so much 😂 I’ll keep you posted when I get my results when I’m back in the eye hospital in a few weeks . My whole point of sharing this was to be real with you guys, ill always be transparent about my diabetes and hope any of you with it feel less alone 🩵
