Chyler Leigh Instagram – Forever grateful for the time Iโ€™ve had to grow and know all these lovely people. Thank you @supergirlcw for showing the world that we are all superheroes in our own rights ๐Ÿฅฐ
Chyler Leigh Instagram – September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, and with my partner @bevocal.speakup, I want to create some space to talk about it โ€“ because one of the ways we can join the suicide prevention fight is by moving past the silence and shame that can surround mental health and suicide, and having honest conversations with people in our life.

If youโ€™re concerned about someone, donโ€™t wait for them to come to you. Small acts like reaching out, listening, and letting them know youโ€™re there and you care can make a huge difference โ€“ especially if they feel like theyโ€™re going through something alone. At times it may feel difficult or awkward to reach out to someone about their mental health, but it doesnโ€™t have to be. @BeVocal.SpeakUp and amazing organizations like the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (@afspnational) have resources that can help us be the best support we can be, including tips on how to start conversations and get help for someone who may be struggling with their mental health or thinking about suicide. I encourage you to visit afsp.org to learn more.

My own experience with mental health has had its ups and downs, and there have been times when Iโ€™ve been in a really dark place. Having a support system that was there for me when I needed it was an important part of getting to where I am today. I have struggled, but I am so, so glad to be hereโ€ฆ and to take what Iโ€™ve learned and be able to help people in my life support each other, and also support themselves.

We have all felt overwhelmed lately โ€“ things have been really tough. But I want you to know that there is always a path forward. You are not alone in what youโ€™re going through. Help is available.

If you or someone you know is in crisis or having serious thoughts of suicide: call 911, contact your healthcare professional right away or go to the emergency room. You can also call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 800-273-8255 or contact the Crisis Text Line by texting TALK to 741-741 to reach a live, trained counselor 24/7.

Be safe. Be well. Keep going.
