Been hard on myself lately. Like, really hard. A lot of negativity and self-criticism. But despite very little sleep, no makeup, and a pimple on my cheek… I wanted to take a moment to capture and appreciate who I am and how far I’ve come. Struggling to find things you love – or even like – about yourself can seem impossible at times. But I hope you – whoever might need to hear this – can take a moment and speak some life back into yourself. You’re worth it.
*BONUS* Don’t know how I’ve missed it all these years but I noticed that I have two freckles above my top lip that look like little eyes. So I’m actually smiling twice here 😌🤗
#fbf to a time I stood alongside these Mega Babes!! @azietesfai … #katiemcgrath … I miss you ❤️
Took time off to work hard on myself. It’s not been easy. Letting go of the past can be quick or a lifelong journey. But it’s a journey that is so so worth the climb. My thanks to those who have helped me along the way. I’m standing on a new mountain top and am so excited for what’s on the horizon. @hallmarkchannel #TheWayHome #KatLandry … here we go 😎
Happy #pride to my BEAUTIFUL LGBTQ family. You are loved and cherished and celebrated just as your incredible, fabulous, AUTHENTIC selves. Sending hugs and kisses to a community who’s overly deserving and wildly wonderful… just as you are

ALL THE HEARTS FOR YOU!!
It’s officially the winter holiday season, and I am grateful to be able to spend so much time with my family right now. But I also try to remember that “holiday” doesn’t mean the same thing for everyone – and that while joyful for many, this time of year can be really tough for people too.
So my friends at @BeVocal.SpeakUp and I want to share a few important reminders about this time of year and mental health:
– For some, being around family can be triggering; keep this in mind when you’re speaking with friends about plans, don’t pass judgment, and try to hold space if someone wants to open up to you about this.
– Images you see on Instagram and other social media platforms are often people’s best and brightest moments, but they’re not always the whole picture. When scrolling, try not to compare your “behind the scenes” to their “highlight reels.” It’s ok to not have a picture-perfect feed or perfect experiences.
– It’s been a hard few years, and having mixed emotions about the holidays is ok.
– Taking a break from holiday season events to rest and recharge is also ok.
– Importantly, always remember: it’s ok to not be ok.
There is no right or wrong way to feel right now – but no matter what, you deserve support and care for your mental well-being. Creating a safe space for you and others to talk about your mental health can help; so can preparing ahead for stressful times, and making sure you have a “take care of my mental health” plan in place. Know that there are amazing resources available to support you. Here are a few that I recommend checking out:

Be safe. Be well. Keep going.

September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, and with my partner @bevocal.speakup, I want to create some space to talk about it – because one of the ways we can join the suicide prevention fight is by moving past the silence and shame that can surround mental health and suicide, and having honest conversations with people in our life.
If you’re concerned about someone, don’t wait for them to come to you. Small acts like reaching out, listening, and letting them know you’re there and you care can make a huge difference – especially if they feel like they’re going through something alone. At times it may feel difficult or awkward to reach out to someone about their mental health, but it doesn’t have to be. @BeVocal.SpeakUp and amazing organizations like the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (@afspnational) have resources that can help us be the best support we can be, including tips on how to start conversations and get help for someone who may be struggling with their mental health or thinking about suicide. I encourage you to visit afsp.org to learn more.
My own experience with mental health has had its ups and downs, and there have been times when I’ve been in a really dark place. Having a support system that was there for me when I needed it was an important part of getting to where I am today. I have struggled, but I am so, so glad to be here… and to take what I’ve learned and be able to help people in my life support each other, and also support themselves.
We have all felt overwhelmed lately – things have been really tough. But I want you to know that there is always a path forward. You are not alone in what you’re going through. Help is available.
If you or someone you know is in crisis or having serious thoughts of suicide: call 911, contact your healthcare professional right away or go to the emergency room. You can also call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 800-273-8255 or contact the Crisis Text Line by texting TALK to 741-741 to reach a live, trained counselor 24/7.
Be safe. Be well. Keep going.

One of the first steps you can take to be an advocate for mental health is to arm yourself with knowledge. Knowing about signs and symptoms if someone is struggling, how to open up a conversation about mental health, and resources that are available to help you and others in your life can be instrumental in creating a safer and more supportive environment for everyone.
In honor of #MentalIllnessAwarenessWeek, below is a list of amazing mental health resources I’ve pulled together in partnership with @BeVocal.SpeakUp. This week, and year-round, I encourage you to learn, explore and share.
And remember: you are not alone, and help is always available.
Crisis Text Lines and Hot Lines: @crisistextline: text TALK to 741-741; @800273talk: National Suicide Prevention Lifeline; call 800-273-8255; Military & Veterans Crisis Line: call 1-8-273-8255 or text 838-255

As you might have seen, my friends and partners at @BeVocal.SpeakUp are saying goodbye after seven years. I’m so grateful to Be Vocal for letting me talk about my own journey with mental health since way back in 2019. Through it all, the greatest part of this opportunity has been connecting with so many of you.
As a society, we’ve come so far on how mental health is understood, perceived and cared for. But we’ve still got work to do. Which is why I will continue to speak up. Let’s help carry the torch forward to create a bright tomorrow for people living with and impacted by mental health conditions. There are so many ways you can affect change. Together with Be Vocal for the final time, I want to give you some ideas on making a difference.
Tell your story–Your story and voice matter. Sharing your personal experiences can help others feel safe opening up, and can support your own wellness.
Be there–Let the people in your life know that you’re there to listen, non-judgementally. This can be important for someone looking for help.
Listen and learn–By learning more, you can be better prepared to help others or advocate for better care in your community. Start by exploring organizations who do incredible work each day: @afspnational; @jedfoundation; @mentalhealthamerica; @namicommunicate; @dbsalliance; @nationalcouncil
Share diverse resources–Mental health is for everyone. Familiarizing yourself with and elevating resources that address diverse backgrounds and experiences can help bring us closer to an environment where everyone feels like they have access to the support they need.
Have real conversations about language–Words matter. The language we use shapes perceptions and perspectives. Model using non-judgmental or “people-first” language. Provide context when discussing those who are living with mental health conditions, and recognize that a diagnosis does not define a person. People living with mental health conditions are parents, friends, colleagues, leaders and so on.
It all matters. We have the power to make a difference. Let’s keep speaking up, keep going. And remember, you are not alone, help is always available if you need it.
