She was a talented actress, who fought for racial equality, was a political activist, and LATINA. Born in Costa Rica raised and educated in Chile. You might not know she was Latina, because in the movie “Maestro”her role was culturally appropriated and played by a non-Latina. So in keeping with the things that Felicia fought for, I want to highlight that racial inequality and unfair labor practice that is happening in this movie. As this movie makes its way to the Oscars, and is nominated in 7 categories, including Carrie Mulligan, being nominated for best actress.
