Home Actress Debra Messing HD Instagram Photos and Wallpapers March 2024 Debra Messing Instagram - @appelboompennen sent a magnificent fountain pen crafted by Leonardo Officina Italiana in honor of Israel’s 75th Birthday(based on the Jewish calendar). It is blue and white, in honor of the Israeli flag. They chose a marbled design “because the blue and white are inseparable, just like the Jewish people and the state of Israel.” The sleeve shows the Star of David with in the center the Chai or the number 75. The dates 1948-2023 (Roman/Latin calendar) and 5708-6783 (Hebrew Calendar). The text “Israel 75 years statehood” both in English and Hebrew. I really am overwhelmed by the beauty of this pen, and the thought and passion that went into its creation. Thank you for honoring Israel’s statehood. Am Yisrael Chai💙 #fountainpen #appelboom #israel #birthday #leonardoofficinaitaliana Addendum— At a time when there are calls for Israel’s annihilation and statements that it should not exist, this was a welcomed statement of support. This is true AND it is also true that there is far too much death and destruction in Gaza, and the war must end. I prayed Hamas would accept the deal offered, but it’s clear they don’t want a ceasefire. But every Jew does. No one celebrates the horrific pain and suffering we are witnessing in Gaza. We simply want Hamas to be prevented from carrying out another massacre (which they have promised). 1000s of terrorists have been killed, and miles of tunnels have been destroyed, along with military bunkers and arsenals. I wish the global community would unite and demand the release of the hostages so this can stop. I truly believed if every person concerned with the innocent people in Gaza would protest for the release of the hostages, the public pressure could bring this all to an end. It’s time to unite.

All the punditry about free speech and criticism of Israel has extravagantly missed the point, Dara Horn argues: The big lie of anti-Semitism is winning.

As a Harvard alumna and the author of a book on anti-Semitism, Horn was asked to serve on the anti-Semitism advisory committee that the university convened after the October 7 Hamas massacre. “I was inundated with messages from Jewish students seeking help,” Horn recounts. “They approached me with their stories after having already tried many other avenues—bewildered not only by what they’d experienced, but also by how many people dismissed or denied those experiences.”

Horn discovered a “mountain of proof” that revealed a reality in which Jewish students’ access to their own university “was directly compromised. Compromised, that is, unless they agreed—or at least agreed to pretend, as many Jewish students who are neither religious nor Israeli now silently do—that there was nothing wrong with wallpapering America’s premier university with demonization of Jews.”

On and off campus, Jews have been subjected to threats, harassment, violence, vandalism, and genocidal rhetoric; some have taken to hiding external signs of their Jewishness. “It is remarkable how little any of this has to do with anything going on in the Middle East,” Horn continues at the link in our bio. “This harassment isn’t coming from an antiwar plea, or a consciousness-raising effort about Israeli policies, or a campaign for Palestinian independence, though those pretenses now serve as flimsy excuses. The only purpose … is to dehumanize and demonize Jews. Every time Jews are forced to prove that they didn’t deserve this, or to hide who they are, it is already working.”
