As many of you know, watching me for 2 decades now publicly, I'm a stickler when it comes to routines and consistency around bedtimes and the importance of quality sleep, helping millions of families world wide establish healthier patterns of behavior to do so successfully. A study held by science researchers, lead by Dr. Emily Mertz at Colorado State University confirmed that firm daily routines were linked to better developed brains. The study involved 94 children of all economic backgrounds, measuring the structure of their brains via MRI scans and asking parents about their sleeping patterns, routines, playtimes and whether there was consistency overall. Other findings include sleep insufficiency impacting emotional processing and academic achievement which also impacts children's mental health - Brain health. The full article can be found on The Times website and has been published in the Journal Brain and Behaviour. I would encourage you all to read the full article if you carve time and if not remember the responsibility we take on as parents and what we instill to ensure a better 40 winks in our homes will ultimately improve our lives significantly. Most times the findings can be found in the experience of doing the work , in the trenches with families as the work is immersive, it's always nice to have the science perspective. - Jo x 😴💤 #helpingfamiliesshine💫 #Family #sleepdeprivation #Brainhealth Sent from Yahoo Mail on Android

Jo Frost Instagram – It is our responsibility as parents, not the teachers or the grandparents but us as parents to invest in our children’s welfare.
Let’s make wiser choices even if we weren’t raised the same way.

It’s really tough and incredibly sad to watch an over weight toddler run completely out of breath or a 5 year old with capped silver teeth because of too many sugary, high sodium foods.

We’ve all seen the children on social media who were noticeably overweight and NOT due to any medical condition but due to a lack of parental education and gusto from parents to do the right thing.
Even if you comment for concern you are labeled as ‘fat shaming’ . ..
Children video game too much, watch & swipe too much on phones. Let’s change that for them… after all we get to regulate.
And when you do watch the difference in their behaviour, energy and mental health. 😊

It’s never too late, never too late to start parents, I hope this is received with the loving intent it was sent. Jo xx

How do you feel about this ?
