Jo Frost Instagram – The shocking news of the Princess of Wales cancer diagnosis no doubt stopped millions of families worldwide in their tracks today for a moment of reflection, either in regard to their own experiences of living with,battling personally through or supporting someone with this undiscriminating disease. 🤍 For every family it is a circumstance of such heightened mixed emotions, a rollercoaster you want to get off and one bravely our Princess of Wales has bought more awareness to today in her message of hope and compassion regarding all living with. Impacted by this disease personally and professionally, helping families through cancer practically, I wanted to leave with you a few tips of advice that you might find useful should you find yourself in the position of sharing such news. To Catherine and ALL families solidering through my deepest heart felt wishes of strength courage, compassion and resilience for a full recovery. 🙏🏾🤍 Jo Frost Global Parenting Expert and Childcare Specialist. Telling a Child Someone They Love Has Cancer Is An Emotional Position To Find Oneself. Be honest and open and in a place that is more comfortable for them if possible. Use words they will understand, this depends on their age and their understanding of the disease. Find the balance between too much information and too little,opening up the opportunity to ask questions and curiosity. Explain the physical changes they might see, this helps them to expect when changes occur. Explain cancer is a serious illness and that there are different treatments and remain optimistic because this is still keeping the conversation real whilst living very hopeful. Let them have open opportunities to ask questions and express their feelings at different times beyond the time you sit down together.  Children might blame themselves and ask if it was them who caused it and so it is very important to state that people of all walks of life experience such diagnose of Cancer. Jo Frost Instagram – Parents you got to do what it takes. Are you concerned about them or are you too worried about yourself & whether they will still love you? It’s an honest question. Would you of thought twice of putting your child in a tepid bath if they of had a high fever? Most times it takes being in two physical states at the same time. Your heart feels but your head knows what you need to do. Learn to take action with both states because it is required as a parents most times. Yes stipulate that sleep time.  Yes Regulate that phone usage Yes buy the food that is NOT crap full of sugar. Yes do suggest they eat small & often. Yes we are all getting out for fresh air daily. Yes I can cuddle you and make you feel comforted and safe. Yes I will sit a little longer, then i must get back to. Yes I can just listen,always Yes it won’t be this forever.
