Kelsey Edwards Instagram – one of the most common questions i get asked is “how do you do everything you do?”
as someone with ADHD and multiple passions/projects circulating at any given time, i swear to you that my life changed the day i started to plan.
keeping a running list of my goals, projects and the tasks associated with each has been the only way i can consistently follow through and finish all the things i start.
before, i would forget my goals and forget what i was working on. now i literally look at them every single day in my Notion dashboard and take an inventory of where i’m at.
it’s impossible to forget and so much easier to accomplish them. here’s how it works:
i do a quick planning session the night before to get a feel for my timeline, goals and tasks for the next day.
then in the morning i meditate, set intentions, say my affirmations out loud, write down things i’m grateful for and review my tasks/goals for the day.
i also keep my Notion up on my computer throughout the day so i can periodically review the plan when i get distracted or lose sight of my goal.
let me tell you: GAME. CHANGER. this takes me 10-20 mins depending on how detailed i am with it. never in my life have i felt so focused and clear.
then every sunday, i take a look at the week ahead and write down any big things coming up that i need to prepare for.
for example, my mom is coming in town this week for my birthday! i need to clean my apartment and make sure everything is ready for her.
i need to record some things, edit some things, post some things, have some meetings and make an appointment for maisy’s dental cleaning.
when i have a clear overview of the week ahead, it makes all my daily planning sessions so much easier too.
all this to say, if you’re a creative person like me who gets easily distracted and forgets/loses sight of your goals, planning will be a game changer for you.
