Kelsey Edwards Instagram – i really resonate with this girl. i lived under the weight of “the world’s” expectations for a long time. this is often an element of what i describe as living in a “box.” 📦
whether it was life plans, religion or career goals, i always felt so much pressure to do things “the right way.”
pick one thing. be one thing. do one thing. do it really well. be what everyone expects you to be.
it wasn’t until i got a bit older that i realized there is no “right way,” and everyone is making it up as they go. our perception creates our reality, so we echo back to each other our perceived “right ways” and that feels like truth. but really, our perception is just one out of a million options.
there is no one-size-fits-all box or way of doing things.
there’s only the way that works for you, and you’re the only one who gets to choose what that looks like.
not only that, but most of us are stopping ourselves from doing what we ACTUALLY what we want to do by putting ourselves in tiny little boxes, because we worry what “the world” will think.
you don’t have to choose one thing. you can be whatever you want. you can do whatever you want.
you don’t have to ask for permission and you can be messy along the way.
this is YOUR life, and you get to create it on YOUR terms, whether that’s doing lots of things or one thing.
stop worrying about the world, let go of your boxes (i can help) and go do something amazing. 📦✨🫶🏼
