Linda Burney Instagram – Connecting with Elders and Country is so important for our youth. On-country, community-led programs keep kids engaged in school while connecting them to culture.
One of these is the Junior Ranger program, which partners kids and schools with local Indigenous ranger programs. Kids get to learn more about their culture and are excited to head to school and stay engaged.
So we’re expanding the Junior Ranger program to 50 new sites across Australia. This means more students can take part in this amazing project, just like these students from Gumbaynggirr Giingana Freedom School in Coffs Harbour NSW.
The Junior Ranger program has delivered proven results by keeping First Nations students engaged in school.
