Devastating news this morning. Putin has finally succeeded in killing Navalny. He exposed Putin’s corruption, and against the odds he survived being poisoned by a nerve agent, then ( to my horror) returned to Russia to advocate for the freedoms we enjoy in America . On Jan 17 he posted “ I don’t want to give up either my country or my beliefs. I cannot betray either the first or the second. If your beliefs are worth something, you must be willing to stand up for them. And if necessary, make some sacrifices. “ Hero for the ages, he embodied courage. May those of our lawmakers who are now so cavalier with our democracy, so craven in their obsequious eagerness to do Trumps bidding. May Navalny inspire then to find their courage

Our sweet pony was Emmet. Passenger was my daughter Dylan. We were out for a trot. Emmet was mostly Ronan’s. Dylan had her own larger pony and i had Jake, a huge horse. The other kids were too little to ride. ( my older kids had grown up & no longer lived at home full time). When the weather permitted, I could pick up the youngest kids from their local school in this cart- which was challenging to rig up- but worth it. All the kindergarteners & preschoolers used to come out to pet him. Beautiful memories
