Michelle Visage Instagram – Ahhhhhh theatre. Theatre saved my life in so many ways. Theatre was my friend when I had none. Theatre was my escape when the world got to be too much which was very often. Theatre was and still is my safe space. I got myself into every single musical and play within my reach since I was very, very young. No one in my family has any musical abilities, but the day that I found the red album with the fire escapes on the cover, my life was changed and I never looked back. I would sing and act any chance I got and if there wasn’t an opportunity to do so, I made one. I’ll never stop chasing that theatre dream. I will never stop loving the theatre and I can’t wait to play some more!!! I’m a lucky gal and I take none of it for granted! 🎭

The whole song (see yesterday’s post about my Waitress Broadway audition) I’m sharing because you asked for it and we theatre kids are all in this game together. Self tapes can be soul destroying but they also capture a piece of you at a certain time of your life that will be memorialized forever. Those moments should be cherished forever because time moves very quickly. They also help get the word out about your incredible talents. I may not have landed THAT job, but Everybody’s Talking About Jamie was my next audition and I got it! My hope for each and every one of you is that you GET THE JOB!!!!
