Caption : So I have been away for awhile because almost two years ago, my mother passed on to another life. I have been on and off about posting this but I feel the need to today. From taking care of her, stopping work, forcing milestones so she can be a part of, watching her liveliness go away but still trying to fight, to losing myself since she started getting sick, unrelated to covid. It was do or die for me while being slightly numb for myself. It’s like I started the grieving process right then and there. After falling real hard, I had some time to think about what really matters to me in life. I took some time away from social media, took one step at a time with work, focused on healing and loved ones (thank you for being here, wouldn’t have made it today without you guys) and disassociated with anything to do with her departure but rather, want to keep celebrating her. Caption : One more day till in theatres! So thankful to have a small part in this film. For the few days I was on set, other than shoving my face with chips, I got to witness amazing actors and a brother-sister, director-producer combo treat everyone with kindness and respect. Caption : 🌿Embracing each step🤍 It’s been a while since I have really committed this virtual path. Probably since Spinning Out. It’s been on and off. Life, with all its twists and turns, led me to a space where each step felt heavy, and the silence between posts spoke volumes. After losing my beloved mother, every day became a journey of putting one foot in front of the other. By no means was our relationship perfect but that’s the thing I long for even one more mother daughter dispute. So engaging a little, withdrawing a bit – finding a rhythm that resonates with the ebb and flow of grief and healing. In the quiet, I found pain, shame, guilt, numbness, but in the stillness, I discovered, solace and strength. I have found joyful shared moments but I don’t know what I am doing for the most part. And I don’t know if my piece of heart will ever fully heal. I frequently talk to my neighbouring demons who are living rent free in my head. So I am still figuring it out. Aren’t we all? Despite all this, life is a beautiful mosaic of moments, that include the good to ugly. For those of you who stayed through all of that for your friends and for yourself, you’re a real one. Cheers to being a mess, to open hearts and compassion, to listening and understanding, to the courage to forgive, and to simply trying our best. Cheers to a New Year and a new chapter. I am going to go have some tea with one of my demons now and maybe convince her to do a tango or a paso doble? Hah.

Caption : #fridaythoughts To see so may of us come together and celebrate was amazing. Thank you @reelasian for having all of us! This is something that inspires me and I continuously see how patience is everything. On a side note, I went to a panel and heard a filmmaker say: “there is enough of bad things, let’s focus on the good”. This resonated with me because we all have our traumas, we are all trying to make it as individuals, yet the irony of it, I believe anyway is that we should support each other and put everything else aside whatever that may be. After many conversations I see the recurring theme of fear to be misunderstood and a wish to be great.
