It’s been so exciting to re-discover #Nivea cream. The very moisturiser I used as a teenager when I was boarding at catering college. I love to put it on in the morning and at night. It’s so rich and nourishing for the skin. It takes me back and makes me feel so young (at heart at least)! What about you? What is your morning routine?

Fred’s Wednesday Wine Club Barolo, Falletto Vigna Le Rocche 2014 #FWWC Romantic night in a few days ago. So I opened a cracker and made an authentic Carbonara just like they make in Rome. No cream just egg yolks 😋 And then just as I opened the wine…Argument!!!! with @fruitcake_fundamentals 😂😂😂 (it was quickly resolved though… Obviously it was my fault to start with… (it mostly is 🤪😳)…. All I had to do was apologise and voila, job done!!! The night was back on track 😜😂 Oh and one small disclaimer if I may…. Don’t shoot me! I made it with bacon. I had no Guanciale 🤷🏻♂️ C’est la vie! Not to worry, I will still go to heaven x As for the wine @iamginodacampo would simply say Mama Mia!!! Orange brick colour. Incredibly powerful with distinctive notes of cherry, rose, freshly grounded coffee grain, tar, leather and anise. Delightful and elegant on the palate. Balanced to perfection. As smooth as velvet. Long finish.

Grand classique de la Cuisine Bourgeoise – Daube de boeuf 😋 I made this rich and succulent traditional dish with short ribs for the first time. The added flavour from the bones was just incredible. Fred’s Wednesday Wine Club M&S Lomas Del Marqués, Classics range, Rioja riserva 2016 #FWWC Rain, cold, wind, hailstorm, grey skies you name it we got it. We can’t seem to shake it off. Between you and me I had enough! And so I just thought I’d treat myself to something delicious to go with my lamb casserole tonight. Not only is this wine incredible value for money (as are all the other wines from the same Classics range) it is extremely well made and a great example of the style of Rioja. 90% Tempranillo and 10% Graciano, this is subtle, fruity, balanced and very elegant with notes of red berries, leather, vanilla, spices and oak.
