Chrissie Fit Instagram – While in Cuba, I visited the town where the Fit family was from, Guanabacoa. I met the few relatives we still have there, whom I’ve only ever spoken to through WhatsApp. They treated me with such love, kindness, and care. It was like I’d known them all my life. Thankfully, the woman who now lives in my family’s old home (pictured here) was happy to give us a tour inside. While the house has changed and deteriorated with time, I can still picture where my grandfather played dominos on the front porch and where the Christmas tree was set each year — in front of the three columns in the living room, now partially blocked by new stairs.
