Jane Goodall Instagram – Dr. Jane Goodall’s insights into animal behavior have helped pave the way for transformations in animal welfare and research the world over. But #DidYouKnow that Jane didn’t begin her formal advocacy work until 1986? That year, she attended the first “Understanding Chimpanzees” conference in Chicago, IL and now often says, “I went to the conference as a scientist, and I left as an activist. I knew I had to do something.” 📢🌍

This sparked decades of advocacy work, including a collaborative effort to help successfully remove chimpanzees from medical research. In 2002, Jane was named a @unitednations Messenger of Peace by Secretary-General Kofi Annan for her years of dedicated activism and commitment to peace, particularly through @rootsandshoots , youth action program of the Jane Goodall Institute.

Today, Jane travels 300 days out of the year to spread her message of hope through action, and she takes every opportunity to support important conservation causes. Recently, inspired to take action against the harmful effects of some mining processes on communities and ecosystems, she’s partnered with @brilliantearth to support their use of ethically-sourced fine jewelry. Learn more about the partnership and why she continues her advocacy work at 90 on @todayshow — LINK IN BIO
