Jasika Nicole Instagram – I want to close out the year having documented my last couple months of making, which was inspired by finding my-my-my sewjo❤️
1. I finally decided to learn to read crochet patterns, and being a lifelong knitter, I’m glad I got over myself, as crochet has been scratching the itch that knitting has failed to accomplish the last couple years. I made this shawl mimosa by fiore in a couple weeks with yarn from @missceliespants that I only know as being an Italian wool and feeling like a silky cotton (as someone that’s sensitive to lots of wools that others seem to tolerate just fine, that’s saying a lot).
2. A crocheted doll for my new young friend Ruby ( pattern by @sweetsofties – she also has a little penis pattern that is so cute I might have to make some to give as gifts!)
3. speaking of gifts I made the most Xmas gifts for others this year than perhaps ever and the joy and delight I got from it (even though I was stressed about finishing in time) was such a surprise to me. Maybe I’ve gotten better at making for others- Everything fit and everyone was happy! makes me excited to do it again maybe just start earlier than dec 1?!?!? 🙃

4. My dad! After he opened it he said it reminds him of a Nehru style shirt he loved that someone gave him when he was a kid 🥹 (Dan shirt by @efpattern )
5. Upstyled @quinnofeaglerock dream pants by partnering some bell bottoms on poshmark and with a little gold leather from my stash ⭐️
6. Used a gorgeous no-stitch leather pattern by @mprleatherworks to make some gifts out of leather in my stash- @lastassembly when are you dropping ur own 👀👀👀
7. I made this painters vest for my brother from sew what patterns on Etsy and was immediately obsessed with every detail. On him it’s fitted and looks great of course but when sized up with a cute little outfit underneath on me, it gives such a cool and relaxed aesthetic. I have already made plans to make one for myself in the same size 😮‍💨
8. The #mothwingcapelet by @minimalistmachinist is the project that got me out of my #NoSewJo slump in nov. It’s getting its own post soon 🧡 | Posted on 31/Dec/2023 04:25:59
