Well, A BIG THING HAPPENED!!! I wrote a song with my friend @bsherman2222 a few years ago for a most precious tv show on @pbs called “American Anthems”. Lo and behold, WE WON A FREAKING EMMY TODAY!!! I never know where the road is gonna take me. I just say “yes” when The Universe offers, try my best, and am eternally grateful to be surrounded by a wonderful team of people and amazing, talented friends. Thank you @gailgellman @bsherman2222 @dangoodman2002 @thebrianmhunt @brendamilinkovic @stephmads ! As the song says, “Life is Sweet”. What a day!!!

A story of Sweet Kathleen:
Please meet the beautiful light that is Kathleen Madison. I met Kathleen today in the airport lounge. Kathleen just turned 71 and lives in Florida. When I walked over to sit near her, she smiled so warmly and asked, “How are you?”
To which I responded as I do in all airport lounges, “I am great, just debating on whether or not to get some Cinnamon Toast Crunch!” To which she responded, “Well, would it make you happy?” (Indeed it would Kathleen. Indeed it would).
We became friends as Kathleen informed that she was 1/3 Witch, 1/3 Butterfly and 1/3 Gypsy and I was like “Same, Girl. Same.”
Kathleen then pulled up a picture of me online and said, “You look so much like this girl.” And I said “I get that all the time because I am that girl.” Kathleen then told me that her friends were never going to believe it so I said, “Well let’s take a picture and I will post it.”
(Additionally Kathleen gave me many nuggets of wisdom and I love her).
We parted but, the moral of the story is, I love Kathleen. (And Cinnamon Toast Crunch) (But not as much as I love Kathleen).

While everyone is a buzz today arguing over #slapgate (on The Oscars if you missed it.), and whether or not it was chivalrous or violent or merited or who is even allowed to have an opinion, I’d like to offer you a reminder on some life or death shit. Literally: It’s National colorectal cancer awareness month! And I offer you these glorious pics of me BEFORE AND AFTER my colonoscopy scan. Yes Ladies and Gentlemen, I did it! It’s recommended for anyone over 45 now. And, the truth is, I just went to a Memorial service this weekend for a dear friend who died from it just a couple of months ago. He was only 47. So, go and get scoped!!!! (Plus, second pic is me still high as a kite bc they give you that crazy Michael Jackson anesthesia shit and you are out like a light 💡! You don’t know a thing has happened and it’s over and done and you are healthy and safe for the next few years!!!) I love you and want your plumbing healthy. So call your doctor and make an appointment!!! I believe in you:-)

What a treat to celebrate #internationalwomensday by playing music with these two talented beauties! @sarabareilles and @nkekio ! We came together to sing and share and celebrate with @girlswithimpact and the work they are doing to support the next generation of women! All of it made my heart happy.
(Fun fashion side-note: my track suit story. So I bought this originally for my love and it was not the right size for him. To be clear, I bought it last June and kept forgetting to return it for exchange. I forgot for so long that, well, I didn’t feel proper in exchanging it as the whole season was well passed. After it sat on my bedroom floor for months, it occurred to me yesterday, “Why don’t I just try this on?” I did and well, I now have a new, super rad tracksuit by @richfresh ! Boom! “Who wears the (fresh track suit) pants around here?” (Answer with Beyoncé: “Girls! Who runs the world!”:-). A “fitting” metaphor to celebrate this International Women’s Day!:-)
