And…YES… these are THE pants. The traveling pants that have seen the world with me for over 20 years, they’ve been borrowed by many of my girlfriends … and a few brave guy friends, and have most recently “shared the stage” with the loveliest and talented @kendallrobbinsmusic during her big Carnegie Hall debut. (She stole the show. Standing ovation.)
So many of you messaged me yesterday with the sweetest notes after listening to the most recent @melrobbins (she couldn’t be cooler…) podcast where she tells the full story of the traveling pants. I can’t listen (never listen to stuff about me!) but my husband said it was “a tear jerker” which is big coming from him.

I heard that we are calling this little scene #bookshelfwealth these days… and while I usually pay no mind to trends, I’ve got to say I’ve never LOVED a trend more! For me books weren’t meant to be this precious thing perfectly styled on a shelf or coffee table. Every chance I get I fully live in my books — dog earring, underlining, post-it-noting and even tearing my favorite pages out (and framing them!)
Anyways sending love from this bookworm to all the others out there — here’s to wonderfully messy shelves full of all our favorite things and hearts rich with all the good stuff!

I love seeing these two different dinnerware collections that I designed with @crateandbarrel side by side like this! Both are beautifully made (tonal) ceramics but they ultimately have their own distinct feeling and look.
And now I’m wondering, is your home a Range or Kiln collection kind of home? I am admittedly a dinnerware kind of girl so mine’s a “depends on the day” kind of home!

During the design process with @crateandbarrel, we tend to go through many different versions of each product before they make it into their stores and then (hopefully!) into your homes — for months, we go back and forth tweaking and fine-tuning all the big and little details until they are just right. The Stormy and Paso Vases that you see here were first round samples that Crate shared with me early on in the design process so that I could really live with them for a while before giving final feedback on them. These guys were so close to the final thing (I honestly had been wishing I had something just like them for all of my projects for years). Ultimately we decided to change up their patterns a bit and tweak their shapes before giving the final sign off. And I gotta say, I love how they turned out; they are hands down one of my favorite designs from the new collections!
